Don't take it for granted that
your shoe size is the same. Most stores have a bannock device with
standardized size markings, but they are underused.
TRY ON BOOTS LATE IN THE DAY
By the end of the day, your
feet swell to be bigger than first thing in the morning. Especially
after a day of hiking, you will want boots that aren't too tight when
your feet expand.
TAKE YOUR TIME
Hurrying to purchase boots is a
common mistake. Try on as many different makes, models, and sizes of
boots as you want.
:: BOOTS MAINTENANCE ::
GENERAL CARE
Approximately every six weeks
grease your boots lightly. Increase, if in extreme weather and/or
environment such as a very dirty environment.
PROTECT AND PRESERVE
Use the grease to protect and
preserve the leather. Normally, you would just grease your boots unless
they require cleaning.
